Day 58 of 365 (Feb 27th)

I wanted to try a different style today... still same lighting I love to do, but different style editing. I have a friend who wants some photos done and he showed me a photo that looked very old, so I wanted to see what I could do like it. I love the way it turned out.. I'm usually a very "dark blacks" type of editor, and it was SOOOO hard to resist making my shirt pitch black, but this style really worked out better than I was expecting, and it looks perfect with non pitch black shirt.

Strobist: Bare 300w Light and lowest power (1/8) on camera right, a little behind me. Alienbees B800 1/2 power with shoot through white umbrella on left, about 9' away. Triggered with RadioPopper JrX, hooked up my monitor to my 5D Mark II, switched the camera in live view mode (silent mode disabled so taking a picture will trigger the lights), zoomed in 10x so the camera zoom is directly on my eye ball, then I rocked back and forth until my eye is perfectly in focus, then I'd trigger the camera with my remote. Today is the first day I even realized I could trigger the lights while in live view mode. I've always had the camera in silent mode for taking pictures during live view and that disables the hot shoe.
