Both at same height, about 2 feet apart to cover the entire width of the window, no diffuser, 24mm zoom. Canon 430ex II in lamp shade behind me. No gel. Bare, 24mm zoom. You can actually see the shape of the flash in the lamp shade. All lights triggered with RadioPopper JrX. Remote used to trigger photo, HDMI monitor used to review photos so I didn't have to get up each time. 1/2 way through taking photos, I changed the settings to try to get a wider DOF, so I increased the aperture from f/7.1 to f/16. Because of the aperture change, instead of adjusting all the speedlites, I increased the ISO from 100 to 400. I regret changing my settings cause the f/7.1 photos were WAY sharper than the f/16. But I liked this pic the most. Oh well. I also changed lenses half way through from the 16-35mm to the 24-105mm so I could get the shot a little closer. Its a toss up which field of view I liked better. I liked the both actually. There are no color adjustments in this photo. Everything was the around the same color when I wasn't using any gels, but I wanted the light coming through the window to be a little warmer than the light in the background. When I put the orange gels on the lights through the window, thats when the Auto White Balance threw off the light in the back, trying to auto correct for my gels. Thats whats giving it a bright blue glow. I liked it, so I didn't try correcting anything. In lightroom, I did some adjustments such as Clarity up, Highlights up, Lights up. Luminance on Red, Orange, and Yellow up. Hue on Aqua +100 closer to blue (thats about the only color change was getting rid of a little green in the lamp shade moving it closer to blue to match). Noise reduction up. COMMENTS |
