Photo Spotlight Self Portrait with Beauty Dish 100mm Macro 024/365January 24, 2011 Portfolio
Day 24 of Project 365 I got a 22" beauty dish for my Alienbee lights and I haven't even tried it yet. I wanted to test it out to see what the big fuss is about (since I normally always shoot with white shoot through umbrellas). I shot this against a gray background, convert it to B&W in Lightroom then colored my eyes and tie. All post processing was done in Lightroom 3. The tie was silver originally. The image is actually slightly rotated too and it still stayed pretty sharp. I used my favorite lens, the 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro on my 5D Mark II. Strobist Info: Alienbee B800 upper left about 3-4 feet away. Silver reflector bottom right to help fill any shadows, but since this is a self portrait, I have NO clue if it even did anything since I'm not behind the camera to see if was even effecting the shot. I'm about 4' away from the gray background. Thats it, One Light Setup. COMMENTS |
