Photo Spotlight Levitating Lens 9/365January 9, 2011 Portfolio
I don't think I can handle 1 creative photo a day. I think I'll have to change it to a fun photo once a week, and regular photos everyday. It just takes way too much time. This photo may look simple. Sure, light the scene, I stand in the background, put the camera on a timer, someone sits under the camera and tosses the lens right when the shutter goes off. Sounds simple enough. Maybe a few minutes to get the shot (aside from lighting it). Except.. it was only me taking the photo. No help. So this pic took FOREVER to take. Let alone, Im using a bunch of flashes (Not high speed sync) and I wanted to use f/1.8 to get a blurry background. So I had to use an ND filter to do it, but the problem with that is, when you stick an ND filter on your camera, its close to impossible to focus. Man, was this a pain. Strobist Info: A bajillion lights and an ND filter! Lets see. Probably 4 lights behind the screen in the background, an Alienbee B800 on the left with a shoot through umbrella and another B800 with a shoot through umbrella on the right, really close to the lens. The light that is lighting the lens is also lighting me, otherwise, I would be completely dark. COMMENTS |
