How to Extract Music or Audio from a Movie

First, convert the movie audio to WAV format. Download the program SUPER, (here is a direct link to the download file) which is a great video conversion tool.

Run SUPER, At the top of the program, select "wav (Audio Only)" as the "1. Select the Outpit Container" option at the top. Then, drag your video file to the box towards bottom 1/2 of the program. Then you need to specify where the file will be created. Right click anywhere in the program (except on the top bar) and choose "Specify the output folder destination". Just make it your desktop or somewhere easy to remember, cause you'll end up deleting this file after we trim out the part we need.

Once we have created the wav file, we need to edit it so we're only left with the part you want. Open the wav file in a visual wav editor program, like CoolEdit 96. Here is a link to a simple version, CoolEdit 96. The reason I like this program is because its small in download size, and does a lot of features. This program is now Adobe Audition, which I also use, but for quick editing, this is fine. In Cool Edit, simply highlight with your mouse the section of the song you want to delete, then just click delete on your keyboard. (If you were testing the song first and playing it, make sure you hit Stop and not Pause, otherwise you won't be able to delete while on pause). Cool edit also has quick and easy buttons to fade in and out the begining and end of your new clip. If anyone needs screen shots for examples on this, let me know.
